The Daily Kick runs entirely in your browser. Your streak count, which character you've seen, and your daily roast history are stored using your browser's local storage, on your own device. This data is never transmitted to us and we have no server-side database of your activity.
The Daily Kick Chrome extension works differently from local storage on the website above, it doesn't share data with it. Your streak and character/line rotation for the extension are stored separately, using chrome.storage.local, entirely on your own device. This data is never transmitted anywhere and there's no server-side record of your activity.
The extension itself carries no advertising, no cookies, and no tracking of any kind, that only applies to the website. It uses three browser permissions: storage (to save your streak locally), alarms (to periodically check whether a new day's card is ready), and notifications (to send at most one reminder a day if you haven't seen that day's card yet). None of these send data anywhere.
Uninstalling the extension removes all of its locally stored data along with it.
This site itself does not set tracking cookies. However, third-party services embedded on this site, specifically advertising (Google AdSense) and web fonts (Google Fonts), may set their own cookies or use similar technologies in your browser. We don't control these directly; they're governed by the respective provider's own policy.
The Daily Kick may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or generally manage third-party cookie preferences through your browser settings or industry tools such as aboutads.info.
